Volkswagen restyles CC ‘four-door coupe’ for 2013
The stylish Volkswagen CC, arguablystill the most classically beautiful popular-priced sedan today, is about to get an update.
That “update” phrase often sends chills through us, knowing a car that we already like could get ruined if designers try too hard. But tinkering with a classic this time didn’t appear to do any damage — and might even help. The 2013 CC, which will be unveiled in a couple weeks at the Los Angeles Auto Show, gets a new front and rear treatment and more standard equipment, including fancier adaptive, bi-xenon headlights and LED taillight.
VW sounds like it couldn’t be more pleased with the current CC. It says it has sold more than 270,000 around the world and basically created the segment for the crescent-shaped roof “four-door coupe.” Many of them, like the Audi A7, are luxury models.
The new CC goes on sale next spring at a price yet to be announced.
